They're prone to damaging your system and random weird incompatibilities with some games. Personally, I would advise against third-party cables entirely. Nintendo dmg-04. The build quality is almost always worse than the official ones. If you plan to use this with other gamboys, you'll need an adapter/cable for each. Official cables are still common and cheap.
Hello --
For the last several days Quicken has been unable to connect to TIAA - the error returned is HTTP 500. The connection type is direct connect. This had been working normally for years and I made no changes. Other bank connections continue to work correctly.

- Same here. Started for me over the weekend. When stuff like this happens over the weekend, I usually give it a couple days into the week to see if it resolves. So I'll wait until Tue or Wed until I worry about it.Quicken Mac Subscription; Quicken Mac user since the early 90s
- Same here. Issue started on Saturday, 06.29.2019 for me.
- I'm experiencing the same problem: HTTP 500. I sent a message this morning to TIAA Help Center.
- When I try to download from TIAA, into QW2019 R19.44, I'm getting an OL-293-A error.SO, I believe that this is a TIAA error/problem, and not a Q error.'Wait it out' is probably the only option (besides complaining to TIAA) that we have.Q user since DOS version 5

Retired 'Certified Information Systems Auditor' & Bank Audit VP - Same issue here - thanks @ISDBOND for contacting TIAA.
- same issue here..started Saturday, 29th..When I try to download from TIAA, into QW2019 R19.52, I'm getting an OL-293-A error.
- Same issue with TIAA for Windows 10 and latest version of Quicken.
- Looks like we've got a real sour-puss roaming this thread. WHO ELSE would have 'rejected' the OP's update with the Mac version number???AND, to that sour-puss .. we've pretty well established that this is a TIAA issue (otherwise it wouldn't be happening on both QWin and QMac), so rejecting our comments only feeds your own self-centered soul.Q user since DOS version 5

Retired 'Certified Information Systems Auditor' & Bank Audit VP - None of the comments have resolved the issue. It's fraud to indicate otherwise.
- I do not accept the above user's uninformed comment as resolution of this issue, which remains ongoing. It would be nice if a representative of the company that supports the product for which we pay would respond here.
- BOTH QMac & QWin users, across multiple product levels, have reported this. The only element in common is TIAA itself. And, @dvoeks if you 'rejected' your own comment about the QMac version .. then you're a very strange duck indeed.Q user since DOS version 5

Retired 'Certified Information Systems Auditor' & Bank Audit VP - Every comment presents the choice: 'Did this answer the question? Yes or no.' Marking a comment 'no' is not a commentary on your (or anyone else's) worth as a person or their comment. It's simply to confirm (or deny) that the comment resolved the original question.
All comments are helpful and those that confirm multiple people are continuing to experience this behavior are no doubt helpful to the quicken staff and developers who have the responsibility to work with TIAA.
What is absolutely not helpful to paying users is another self-appointed expert 'guessing' that an ongoing problem will probably resolve itself. - @dvoeks

- Hello All,
Thank you for taking the time to report this error to the Community, although I apologize for any frustration or inconvenience experienced.
I tested the connection with TIAA and attempted to add an account to my personal data file using fake login credentials and instead of receiving an invalid login error as I should have, I also received a HTTP 500 error.
This led me to review the OFX Log (Help > Show Logs in Finder > OFXLog.txt) and internal communications between Quicken and the Financial Institution server where I was able to locate the root cause of the error.
The highlighted section is the response from the TIAA server which confirms that the TIAA server is experiencing an error and cannot complete the request for account/transaction data from Quicken.
If you are experiencing this error and haven't already, I recommend contacting TIAA directly to report this issue and providing them with a copy of your OFX Log detailing the response and error.
For more information on how Quicken connects with your Financial Institution, please see https://community.quicken.com/discussion/comment/19996469/#Comment_19996469.
I hope this information is helpful and thank you again for reporting this error to the Community.

- I just tried again and it is now working with no changes whatsoever on my part. It appears as though TIAA has fixed the issue on their end, exactly as I predicted in my earlier post.Quicken Mac Subscription; Quicken Mac user since the early 90s
